The Lord has blessed me with a few opportunities to meet the beautiful and talented Catherine Mullins. Her parents are the pastors at our sister church in Georgia. Her voice is one of an angels.
What I have noticed about watching her perform at different events is that she is in no way performing for the audience. Catherine sings for the Lord. She is purely worshiping the Lord when she sings, and it is such an inspiring experience to be a part of.
If you have never seen Catherine perform, I highly recommend it. She has many albums out now on Spotify that I listen to often.
Currently I have been replaying the song "The Old Rugged Cross". The imagery that this song creates makes you want to cling to Jesus in entirely new ways.
The Cross happened so long ago that for some of us, it is hard to understand its significance. This song reminds us to honor the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. We have to lay down the things of this world, and pick up the cross the way that Jesus did. Jesus did not wear a crown on Earth, Jesus received His cross in Heaven. He had to endure the cross in order for us to be with Him and His Father for eternity.
